When to keep buying Oof upgrades and when to Prestige for permanent scaling.

The decision is not about the biggest number on screen. It is about recovery time. If a Prestige lets you regain the current run quickly, it is usually stronger than forcing another slow milestone.

Upgrade pushes are best when they improve Oof, Runes, Prism, or a new mechanic. Prestige pushes are best when the current run has flattened and new content is available.

A useful rule is to compare minutes to next target with the expected value after Prestige. The better long-term route is usually the one that lowers your next recovery time.
